Naoki Yoshida held a special Letter from the Producer Live broadcast today. Although primarily focused on the upcoming opening of Pre-Orders for FINAL FANTASY XIV’s first expansion; Heavensward, he couldn’t help himself but drop in some hot scoops about Patch 2.55 – Before the Fall – Part II. We’ve got all the deets primed up for you.
Patch 2.55 – Before the Fall – Part II, marks the end of the storyline of A Realm Reborn and sets up the events leading into Heavensward. The patch will be going live on March 31st, 2015. The patch will also add the Final Coil of Bahamut to the Duty Finder, remove the weekly loot lockouts from both the Final Coil of Bahamut and World of Darkness and the Encrypted Tomestone will also be made available to allow players to pick-up ilvl 120 weapons, upgradable to ilvl 130 weapons with Carbontwine.
The Final Coil of Bahamut, via Duty Finder, will work similarly to the Duty Finder implementations of The Binding Coil and Second Coil of Bahamut. The Echo buff won’t be present immediately, and will instead be added via mini-patches between 2.55 and Heavensward, depending on the average success rate of players. At this point in time, no mechanics nerfs are planned – but we wouldn’t be surprised to see Turns 10-12 receive some difficulty adjustments, similar to how Turns 6-8 were adjusted a few weeks after being added to the Duty Finder.
